As the day has ended at Waters Elementary, Dwight sits in his office, as Anna arrives, and asks Dwight "Are everyone still here?" Dwight tells Anna "Thomas is home. What's going on?" Anna pulls out a file, and Dwight looks at it, and his eyes widen, as he asks "Who could be stealing money from the schools?" Anna answers "That's what I want to know. We need to fix this situation now or else the outcome will be bad. I could lose my career, and our students will suffer if we lose accreditation." Dwight pages the staff to the Media Center, and Anna tells him "Call Thomas. He needs to be here. There's only one person I'm really scared of learning of this." Dwight goes "I take it you're referring to..." They both respond "Eliza." At The Courthouse Inn, Eliza is inside, as she smokes a cigarette, and Maura storms inside, and yells "Hey old woman! Who do you think you are spilling lies to my Daughter? I've had enough of you bitch!" Eliza sighs, and goes "And I've had enough of you trying to torment my Son. And if you leave now, maybe I won't go blind." Maura snaps back "I am disgusted you are willing to turn my only child against me! Why Eliza? What in the hell would ever make you go this low?" Eliza quips "Maybe you should go ask Mom. Or Dad. Whoever they are. Now leave before I call the cops." Maura heads to the door, and smiles "And by the way, there's some missing money from the school system. Looks like we'll have to send the bad kids like Thomas back to the Bankhead School..." Eliza yells "Halt! What are you talking about?" Maura smirks "Somebody's a thief in this town and it isn't me. Now there's a meeting I have to attend." Maura leaves, as Eliza gets up, and heads across the street to the Caswell County BOE, with rage in her eyes.
At Thomas' Farm, Thomas sits on the back porch, as he shoots his rifle at cans, as Bill and Scarlet arrives, and tells his Son "You really kicked that Cobain's ass today boy! I bet it felt good didn't it?" Thomas tells his Father "Hell, he wants to start a war with me, and he knows what he's going to get." Thomas' phone rings, as he answers it, as it's Dwight, and he tells Thomas "Anna's called an emergency staff meeting. You need to be here." Thomas takes a deep breath, and sighs "On my way." Thomas hangs up, and snarls "Damn! I didn't want to see Cobain again, but apparently something's going on." Bill tells his Son "Well if he starts anymore shit, then kick his ass again. He'll learn eventually." Thomas quips "I might shoot him if he doesn't watch it." Thomas takes his rifle inside, as Bill looks at his puppy, and tells Scarlet "And you ruined my bed today little girl." Scarlet growls, as Bill smiles, and quips "My little girl. Let's go down to Mommy Eliza's, and see if she wants to pleasure your Daddy." Inside Thomas' home, Thomas' phone rings again, as it's Missy, and ignores the call, as he leaves his phone in the living room, and heads back to Waters Elementary.
At the Caswell County BOE, Corey finishes packing, with sadness in his eyes, as he snarls to himself "I'm being set up by Erica. She's going to destroy me..." Corey turns around, as he sees Eliza, and she asks him "So Corey, why are you packing?" Corey sighs with disgust "Did that bitch tell you?" Eliza asks in a unassuming tone "Which bitch tell me what?" Corey yells "I've been suspended for stealing from the school system Ms. Sullivan and I am innocent!" Eliza stares at Corey for a moment, and asks "Did Snowball..." Corey screams with fury "Look! How many times to I have to defend myself? I am friends with Maura! And hell no I don't go see my Grandmother in Milledgeville, and neither does she! Erica's making a power play!" Eliza quips "You lose a few points being buddies with that bitch Maura, but surprisingly I might believe you." Corey steps back, and asks "What are you plotting?" Eliza smiles "You do have the best of intentions Corey. I am sadden that you've been suspended, but I'll make sure you are taken care of. And also take care of Maura. She's going to need a friend when her world is shattered into a million pieces." Corey asks with fear "Where are you going with this umm, Eliza?" Eliza tells him in a calm tone "Let me worry about that. I am angry someone's stolen from this school, and my money to top, but I know what I know, and well, just cool out, finish packing, and enjoy a paid vacation. And oh yeah, if you tell anyone I was nice to you, I'll kick your ass." Eliza walks out, as Corey finishes packing, as he has some thoughts, and says to himself "Something's not adding up there." Meanwhile in Bankhead, Erica sits in a restaurant, as her Husband walks inside, and snaps "So Erica, can you explain why the bank's taken our home?" Erica tells her Husband "Rick..." Rick yells "And my truck was repossessed!" Erica quietly asks "Why are you yelling?" Rick tells his Wife "I hope you are happy Erica! I'm moving in with my Mama, and you can do whatever you are doing! I'm finished!" Rick walks out of the restaurant, as Erica sits back, and opens her bottle, and someone watches her, as Erica smiles "My medicine. Stress."
Back at Waters Elementary, Alice, Effie, Winnie, Missy, Jacob, Susan, Marian, Jean, Diane, April, Judy, Connie, and Didi are inside the Media Center, as Alice asks everyone "So any word why we're having an emergency meeting?" Everyone are also in the dark, as Mary walks inside, and tells everyone "Anna's gonna be in here shortly." Winnie snaps "I had plans tonight." Judy quips "I know you do. Maybe this will be short, and you and April can go to y'all's bench out back." Jacob tells everyone "Well I hope we're voting to have that Principal Duncan fired. I called Anna on him. He had no right to beat the shit out of me!" Missy gasps "He beat you up?" Jacob yells "Who here thinks he's good for this school?" Everyone raises their hands, as Missy sighs with regret "I shouldn't had asked you out." Jean looks over to her Daughter, and warns her "If you want to meet a man, don't go after Mr. Cobain." Susan asks her Mother "And didn't you have something to do tonight Mama?" Jean smiles "Yes, Hollis was going to skype me. It's that time of the week..." Susan and Diane rolls their eyes, as Susan warns everyone "Mama and Daddy haven't lived together since he moved to California, but when she starts talking about him.." Jean gushes "He's so hot for his age. I miss him living with me here in Caswellton, but once a year, for two weeks, we always catch up on lost time." Anna and Dwight walks inside, as Susan yells "Thank God!!!" Anna tells everyone "Thomas should be here shortly. Where's Maura?" Maura storms inside, and snarls "That damn Eliza's about to learn about pushing my buttons." Anna asks Maura "From the sounds of it, you have seen her." Maura snaps "Damn right I did! And she can joke all she wants, but I gave her a warning to stop digging in my past." Dwight quips "May be smart of her to do." Anna meanwhile tells everyone inside "I think I'll get this started before Thomas arrives, someone's stealing money from the school system, and we're in danger of losing our accreditation over it. I have one suspect in here now I think could be doing it." Maura yells "I haven't stolen anything! And Anna, I told Eliza." Silence fills the Media Center, as Anna warns Maura "You should have stayed quiet. I was planning to tell her myself at my Mama's." Alice asks "So who's the other suspects Anna?" Anna answers "I have placed Corey Horton on Suspension until further notice, and Maura's the only other one I'm watching." Jacob asks Anna "And what are you going to do with Thomas? He kicked my ass today!" Anna responds "You get what you asked for, and he's too valuable to lose." Jacob gets up, and yells "Ok. I see how it is here, and I think I have some better things to do." Anna warns him "I'm watching you, and if you provoke him, then you'll get what you get." Maura snides "Ahh, that's exactly why you don't need to be Supertendient Anna. Partiality." Jacob leaves, as Anna looks at Susan, and goes "Well Susan, you are now our lead teacher of Special Ed now since Maura's being watched and until further notice." Maura warns Susan "You're going to regret working here." Jean gets up, and snaps "I've about had enough of you. I'll kick your ass right here in front of everyone!" Maura opens her arms and laughs "Come on and try me." Susan and Diane holds Jean down, as Dwight looks at Anna, as the staff all have doubt in their eyes and Alice looks to her Sister, and tells Effie, as Winnie looks towards them "This isn't good." Outside the Media Center, Thomas listens, as the school door swings open, and Eliza asks her Son "How long have you been standing at the door?" Thomas turns to his Mother, and sighs with disgust "Someone's stolen your money, and Missy's a damn liar. Snitchy Missy has struck again." Thomas heads to his office, as Eliza's eyes turn red, and stands in the hallway, as inside the Media Center, Anna yells, as Jean and Maura gets into a shouting match "Meeting over!" Eliza sneaks down to Missy's classroom, as everyone inside the Media Center begins to leave, talking amongst themselves, as Susan and Diane walks to each side of Jean, as Jean snarls "I'm going to beat her damn ass!" Susan warns her Mother "Cool it Mama. This was your idea to work here, and I'm not getting into it with Maura." Diane tells her Niece "I'll try to distract your Mama." Jean yells "I'm going home and skype my Husband!" Jean storms out, and Susan and Diane both say at the same time "Jean's about to tear her apart."
Meanwhile at The Rooming House, Corey's returned to his room, as he sits at the side of the bed, and says to himself "Well Erica, I know one thing, you didn't turn Eliza against me... but something's not right. Someone's up to something." There's a knock at the door, as Corey answers, and it's the landlord, as he hands an envelope to Corey, and walks away, as Corey opens it and reads the letter, and a smile comes across his face. In Bankhead, Erica pulls up to her home in the Lakeview Country Club, as she notices the door unlocked, and stumbles inside, as she yells "Rick? Did you decide to stay?" Suddenly a man walks from downstairs, and mumbles "Like doing puzzles my little disco whore?" Erica shrieks "Whip? How in the hell did you get out of Milledgeville?" Whip Morris looks around, and asks Erica "So the redneck dumped you? And I've been doing questionnaires this strange man's been giving me." Erica yells at Whip "Leave!" Whip laughs "Nope. I'm going nowhere. Better pay up, either way, won't work out for you." Erica's phone rings, and she answers, and goes "I'll see you in a few." Whip asks "Seeing somebody on the side?" Erica responds "None of your damn business! Now leave before I call the police!" Whip walks back and forth, and says "They can arrest me, but you'll be sitting next to me in the back seat." Erica's face turns white, as Whip holds up a bag, and asks "I see you're turned back into the whore of Studio 54 again? Want to dance?" Erica runs out, as Whip yells "I'll still be here when you return." Erica gets into her Corvette and drives away, as panic grows in her eyes, as she gets a text from Rick, as he texts "I've called my lawyer." Erica screams, as she swerves off the road, and hits the gate.
Back at Waters Elementary, Anna, Dwight, Alice, Effie, and Judy are inside Thomas' office, as Anna asks him "Why did you stand at the door the entire time?" Thomas tells them "I heard what I needed to hear, and I think I'm going to resign." All are shocked, as Alice tells Thomas, with sadness "You can't do this. This school needs you." Anna adds "Mama would be sad if you left." Thomas looks at everyone and asks "How can I do my job, and see a liar, and someone I want to bury behind my house?" In Maura's classroom, Maura walks inside, as April and Winnie laugh together, and Winnie asks Maura "So Warden, how does it feel that that sweet Susan is better than you?" April laughs, as Maura snaps angrily "I've had enough of Thomas' deranged family trying to destroy me, and then Eliza digging up my family history and turning my Daughter against me, she's going to regret it." April looks at her phone and smiles "My second job awaits. Yay me." April leaves, as Winnie follows, and turns to Maura and smiles "I hope you get fired. Nobody deserves it more than you." Maura grows angry, as she hears a yell down the hall, as Missy's walked inside her classroom, and holds her face, as Eliza yells "You lying slut. Asking that son of a bitch out and hurting my Son again? I don't like a damn liar! And I don't want Thomas around you!" Missy cries "Eliza...." Eliza slaps Missy again, and snaps "Bitch, it's Ms. Sullivan to you! And I know more shit about you and your Mommy than you'd think I know." Maura storms inside, and Eliza snaps at Maura "And so you know. I'll expose your ass, so you better be booking a room near Snowball in Milledgeville!" Missy cries "I'm sorry!" Eliza laughs to herself "Sorry is right. You are as sorry as your Mama. Lying slut!" Eliza storms down the hall, as Susan and Diane yell for her, and Eliza turns and snaps "Someone's stolen my damn money. Yes I know, and I'm going to find out who, and when I do, they're dead!" Eliza walks out, as Diane turns to her Niece, and sighs "I think my work here is done." Back in Thomas' office, Anna, Dwight, and Alice are inside, as they try to talk Thomas out of leaving, and Thomas sighs "I'm taking a week off. And then I'll make my decision." Anna, Dwight, and Alice all breathe a sigh of relief, as Missy walks inside, and Thomas yells at Missy "I have no damn use for you, and you and I are finished!" Thomas storms out, as Missy looks at Anna, Dwight, and Alice, as all of them warn her "It looks like someone else visited you." Missy cries "What can I do?" Alice and Dwight looks at each other, and Alice advises Missy "I think you've lost. You may win him back, but I doubt you'll win back Eliza or Bill." Missy shakes her head, and leaves, as Anna tells Dwight and Alice "We need to find out who's behind this." All agree. Back in Bankhead, the Paramedics arrive, as one of them say as Erica's put on a stretcher "I found this in the floorboard." A policeman looks, and calls the Sheriff's Office, and Erica, sitting in the ambulance, as she's concicous, is handcuffed, as she's read her rights. Meanwhile in another area of Bankhead, Jacob pulls up to a bank, and makes a deposit, and smiles "Now to see the Cougar."

The Honor Roll: Episode 24. Face-Offs
The next day begins in Caswellton, at Sullivan Hill, Eliza sits in her den, as she prepares to head to The Courthouse Inn, as she's on the phone, and gasps "What the.." Eliza continues to listen, as she writes down notes, and tells them "This is very beneficial. And I will make sure you get paid very nicely." Eliza hangs up, as there's a knock at the door, and Eliza answers, as it's Thomas, and Eliza asks her Son "Shouldn't you be at school baby?" Thomas sighs with disgust "Some things just don't change Mama. I'm calling out today." Eliza remembers her conversation with Bill the day before, and tells Thomas "I have some breakfast made, and I used my Aunt's recipe for her world famous pancakes. Help yourself. I have some things to do, but I'll be in town." Eliza leaves, as Thomas says to himself "All hell's about to break loose now." At Waters Elementary, Bill's in the Secretary's office, as Dwight tells him "Thomas called out today. He was angry about something, but wouldn't say what it was." Bill rolls his eyes, as Mary walks in the office, and goes "Well God still haven't answered my prayers yet. Bill give it up!" Bill asks Mary "Where's Missy?" Mary answers "I think she's in her classroom." Bill walks out, as Mary and Dwight both look at each other, as Mary asks Dwight "What's going on?" Dwight tells her "I think Thomas has feelings for Missy, and something must have happened. We won't know unless Thomas says something." In Missy's Classroom, Missy sits at her desk, as Maura tells her Daughter "Look Melissa. Jacob Cobain is perfect for you. Not Thomas. I don't want to be related to them." Missy snaps "You are really helping things Mother! I think I'd like to cancel this date. I did call Thomas and he never answered his phone." Maura smiles "He knows." Missy yells "WHAT! You didn't?.." Maura tells her "He saw the two of you. Now I have to go teach my class. Have a nice date." Missy rolls her eyes, and yells "DAMNIT MOTHER!", as she sits at her desk, with regret in her eyes.
At The Caswell County Board Of Education, Corey's inside his office, as he looks at bank statements, and gasps, as he goes "Damn. We're screwed." Anna stands at the door, and responds "Yes Corey. Exactly. And Erica's on her way here, and my Brother, who's over the State Board." Corey tells Anna "I haven't taken any money Anna. I would never do anything like that and please believe me." Anna tells Corey "I'd like to believe you, but with your last name, and friendship with Maura, you are the top suspect, or there's a hacker somewhere in our system. There's some faculty in Simpson I am watching closely, and Corinth." Corey asks Anna, as he grows scared "So what are you going to do?" Anna answers "Once I speak to Erica, and my Brother, and we all talk, then we'll go from there. Until then, you need to be careful. Erica's convinced you are stealing funds, and I am scared of Eliza finding out about this, because she's donated a lot into our schools, and when she finds out, it's unknown what'll happen, because she's capable of anything, and she's rich." Anna walks out, as Corey shakes his head, and goes "Damn you Erica!" At The Courthouse Inn, Erica finishes her breakfast, as she asks the Manager "Where's Eliza?" The Manager goes "She's got some things to do. She'll likely not be around today." Erica laughs "She's very busy digging dirt on Maura. I admire that. Hope she can get her fired and her license revoked." The Manager walks away, as Erica gets a text from her Husband, and responds back, as she leaves a tip, and heads across the street to work.
Back at Waters Elementary, the day's started, as Bill sits in Susan's room, as Susan tells her Uncle "Now behave yourself Uncle Bill." Susan motions at her Mother, and goes "You too Mom." Jean and Bill talk to themselves, as Bill gets a text, as Jean asks her Brother "So, what's going on to keep you here?" Bill responds "I want to know why Thomas is so damn.." Susan tells her Uncle "Watch your mouth." Jean looks at her Daughter, as she and Bill walks outside, and into the lounge, and Bill asks Jean "Something yesterday pissed Thomas off, and Eliza's on her way, and she said she thinks Missy may know something." Jean tells him "I've heard talk around here that they're in love, but neither will admit it." Bill responds "Thomas is scared. Losing Valerie and T.J, it still messes with him. He keeps their urns in the living room, and it hurt Eliza and me too." Jean tells Bill "Well, find out what's going on, and if there's anything I can do, then let me know." Jean hugs her Brother, and tells him "Stay in here." Bill makes a face at Jean, as she walks out, as Maura looks inside, and quips "So I see Mary got tired of seeing you." Bill asks Maura in a hateful tone "Hell has no vacancies yet? Still waiting on that buffet to open?" Maura snaps at Bill "You disgust me. No wonder Thomas is a psycho. Runs on both ends. And if he tries to do anything else to that new teacher, I'll have him fired." Eliza meanwhile arrives, and overhears them, and walks inside the lounge, and asks Maura "New teacher? My baby at the point of going mad? What in the hell's going on? Because if you..." Maura smiles "Melissa is going out tonight with Mr. Cobain, and I hope they really hit it off. They were so cute yesterday, and Thomas saw it, and he got upset and threw a fit. Why he needed to be where I sent him." Eliza's eyes turn red, as Bill yells "That damn girl's a whore!" Maura snaps "Excuse me?" Bill yells "Whore! Whore! Whore!" Jean runs back inside, and goes "Susan's class can hear you!" Maura snarks at Jean "Shouldn't you be across the hall doing your job?" Jean warns her "Keep on, and like I said yesterday, I'll have your ass calling Eliza a saint." Bill quips "And she means it!" A page's heard, as Mary goes "Ms. Gardner to the Principal's office." Maura snarls "That bitch...." Bill sighs "Well, the filter's broke on my Ex's mouth." Bill runs out, and Maura tries to follow, as Jean shakes her head, and snaps "And you will be a teacher, and go back to your classroom. This is none of your business." Maura snaps "You stay out of it you old crazy bitch!" Jean slaps Maura, and warns her "Now you heard me. Get! And I'm watching you!" Maura walks back to her classroom, and turns, as Jean stands, and arms crossed, as Maura mumbles "Old bitch." Jean meanwhile struts back into Susan's room, as she asks her Mother "What was going on Mom?" Jean quips "Family bonding." In Thomas' office Bill walks inside, as Eliza sternly orders "Go to my house and check on Thomas. Leave the whore to me!" Bill walks out, as Missy walks into the Secretary's office, and asks "Is Thomas here?" Bill glares at Missy, and mumbles "You'd wish.", as he leaves, and Mary pages Eliza, and goes "She's here." Eliza tells Mary "Tell her it's Thomas, and say anything else, I'll kick your ass." Mary hangs up, as she tells her "Give Thomas a few minutes. He's finishing up some paperwork."
Back at the Caswell County Board Of Education, Fred Waters Jr, Anna's Oldest Brother, and in charge of the Board Of Education of the state arrives, as Anna hugs him, and Fred Jr asks his Sister "Does Mama know?" Anna tells him "No. I've also told her help to keep quiet. Although she had a stroke we both know if she knew she'd be doing something about this." Fred Jr sighs "Well Anna, get Dr. Elliott and Mr. Horton into the conference room so we can figure this out. Father was over the school system for decades, and I don't want our last name tarnished in the city where Mama's the queen." Anna sighs "Her family did found this city, and county." Inside Corey's Office, Corey gets a text from Anna, as he heads to the board room, as Erica sits at her desk, and tells someone on the other line "Thank you.", as she hangs up, and Anna peeks inside, and tells Erica "My Brother's here." They walk into the board room, as Fred Jr asks Erica and Corey "So who's been stealing funds from the schools?" Erica points at Corey, and yells "That man there is your crook. His Grandmother was nuts, he inherited it, and is secretly working for her!" Corey's eyes widen with anger, and shock, as he tries to defend himself, as Anna asks Corey "Do you go see Edna in Milledgeville?" Corey answers "I have no use for her at all. I got into education to correct her mistakes." Erica snarks "And you are a mistake. So what kinda drugs are you on?" Fred Jr sternly warns Erica "Now stop with this and let's get down to business. This is serious. I am torn over this because my family founded this county, and city, and Anna and I's parents and our family's lives have been devoted to education. There's enough evidence for Caswell County to lose its accreditation, and whoever's stealing the money will be punished severely unless they want to admit it now." Anna tells her Brother "I have a list of suspects." as she hands a piece of paper to him, and Corey goes "Erica did buy a new car. And it surely wasn't cheap. So what about her?" Erica snaps "You lying son of a bitch!" Anna yells "STOP!" Fred Jr looks at Corey, and tells him "Well Corey, you have a good record, as do you Erica, but both of you are suspects. I will allow you to keep working as I continue investigations..." Erica then tells Fred Jr and Anna "Corey Horton and Maura Carson were making a big deposit yesterday at the bank." Anna looks at Corey, as he denies it with tears, as Anna opens her laptop, and gasps "My stars, the money's gone from the School System. All of it." Erica yells "You have the thief in here. Corey's doing this for Edna!" Fred Jr looks at his Sister, and Anna looks at Corey, and tells him "Maura has never been trusted, and until we learn more, you are on suspension." Erica quips "How about revoke his license? That'd be perfect!" Corey tells Erica "I hate you, and go to hell you evil bitch." Corey walks out, as he cries, and Anna tells Erica "Everyone in the system's being watched right now. Now leave my Brother and I alone for a moment." Erica walks out, as she laughs, as Anna tells her Brother "Eliza Sullivan has given a lot to our schools, and she will find out, and then she'll lose it." Fred Jr hugs his Sister, and tells her "We'll have our answer before too long. I'm going to see Mama, and then head back to Atlanta." Fred Jr leaves, as Anna looks at her Father and Mother's portraits in the board room, and sadness shows in her eyes. In Corey's office, Erica asks Corey "Need any help packing?" Corey snaps in anger "Screw you, and I hope karma gets you. You only think you've won!" Erica smiles "I know I did. Enjoy packing." Corey cries as walks out, as Erica returns to her office, and checks her phone, and returns a text, and also leaves.
Back at Waters Elementary, Thomas arrives, as Dwight walks into the media center, and Thomas asks him "How have things been going today?" Thomas follows Dwight, as he tells Thomas "I've been in here working, and Mary's guarding the front office." Alice's class is inside, as Didi reads to the students, and asks "Anyone know Albanian?" Alice reminds Didi "How many times do I have to remind you almost none of these kids know about Albania." Didi gets up, as she tells Alice "Well read to your class, time for me to go in my office." Alice gives her students instructions, as she walks over to Thomas, and asks him "What happened yesterday?" Dwight adds "Something's going on. Your Mama's got your office on lockdown, and Bill's been sitting in the lounge." Thomas tells them of the day before, and sighs "Looks like I have my hands full here." Didi screams from her office "DAMNIT!", as Alice quips "Well there's another breakdown today." Dwight sighs "One long day." In the Lounge, Diane sits inside, along with Jean, as Bill tells his Sisters "It's lunch here, let me take Cobain outside and kick his ass!" Diane tells her Brother "That's not the right thing to do. And Thomas is grown." Bill asks his Sister "Well why aren't you trying to stop Eliza?" Diane sighs "Tried and the doors to the office is locked." Jean rolls her eyes, and tells her Brother and Sister "Well I'm going to walk the hall and see if I hear anything." Jean walks out, as Bill yells "I'm going down there to Cobain's room!" Diane snaps "No you are not. How's Scarlet?" Bill responds "In bed." Inside Thomas' office, Eliza tells Mary "Let the bitch inside." Mary looks at Missy, and goes "You can go in." Missy asks Mary "Why are the doors locked Mary?" Mary answers with a confused look "Locked? I didn't know." Missy walks into Thomas' office, and instantly tells him with sadness "I never wanted you to find out about tonight. I'm wanting to cancel." Thomas' chair's turned, as Eliza listens, as Missy tells Thomas "Are we serious? Or should I find someone else. This ain't helping, and I need to be working. I'm not playing games..." The chair swings around, as Eliza yells "Neither am I you whore!" Missy gasps "Oh shit. Where is Thomas?" Eliza snaps "None of your business. And the mouth also known as your Mama let Bill and I know who you're seeing tonight! How dare you?" Missy pleads "I don't want to see anyone else. I don't think Thomas wants anyone." Eliza tells Missy "He does, but hell it's hard for him to move on. Ever considered he may be scared? He does love you, and then you take this Jacob Cobain up on his offer? That hurt him." Missy cries "Eliza I'm so sorry." Eliza tells Missy "Then cancel that date now before I make you call me Ms. Sullivan and I also call a friend from South America." Missy calls Jacob, as he's in his classroom, and he answers, as Missy cancels the date, and Jacob snaps "What? Are you being forced to do this." Meanwhile, Alice follows Thomas, as he heads to Jacob's classroom, as she yells "Thomas don't you think about it." In the lunchroom, April, and Effie hears Alice, as they both look at each other." Jean sees her Nephew, and Thomas snaps "My turn to handle this." Back in Thomas' Office, Eliza watches on, as Missy hangs up the phone, and she tells Missy "Remember my Son loves you, and don't do this again." Eliza meanwhile receives a text, as her eyes widen, and she asks Missy "How often do you see your Grandparents?" Missy goes "They're dead." Eliza tells her "No they're not." In Jacob's room, Thomas storms in, and Jacob yells "Ok you son of a bitch, you won." Thomas begins to punch Jacob, as he snarls "You're going to learn about how I deal with people like you." Thomas kicks Jacob into the hall, as a fight erupts, as Alice and Jean yells "Stop!" Dwight runs down the hall, as Bill smiles "That's my boy!", as Thomas beats up Jacob, and screams "If I see you around Missy again I'll kill you. You hear me? Answer!" Jacob yells "Maura was on the money. You are psycho!" Dwight runs in, and breaks up the fight, as Jacob wipes blood from his face, and Eliza walks down the hall, and asks "Looks like someone got knocked down off his throne." Alice, Jean, and Bill, all are quiet, as Jacob tells them "If he wants a war. He's got one." Thomas walks away, as they follow with the exceptions of Dwight and Jacob, as Dwight warns him "You aren't making a great impression." Jacob yells "Maybe Anna Waters needs to pick someone else to run this asylum!" Thomas leaves without speaking, as Eliza yells "Where are you going?", as Thomas doesn't answer, and leaves, and Bill smiles "He tore Cobain's ass up!" Alice and Jean glare at Bill, as Eliza tells her Ex Husband "Better go check on Scarlet." Bill yells "She's in my bed, and can't jump down yet." Eliza yells "Private time at my house tonight. Change those sheets." Meanwhile Missy walks into her Mother's classroom, as she has a look of shock in her eyes, as Maura asks her Daughter "Did that bitch hurt you?" Missy goes "So what are you hiding?" Maura answers "Nothing Melissa." Missy asks "So why are my Grandparents still alive?" Maura shakes her head, as Missy responds "Eliza said they are." Maura rolls her eyes, and says to herself "Eliza's about to go too far." At The Rooming House meanwhile, Corey returns, as his heart is broken, and opens the door, and cries over the suspension of his job, as Erica sits in her office at the BOE, and smiles "Maura's next, as she opens her purse, and pulls out a bottle, and opens it.

The Honor Roll: Episode 23. Working Into Madness
As another day's arrived, at Thomas' Farm, Thomas sits outside on his porch, as he sighs with relief "Teacher's Work Day." Bill pulls into the driveway, as he lets Scarlet down, and asks his Son "So taking a day off?" Thomas tells his Father "I'll head down there soon. I'm just thinking." Bill responds "I think all the time too Thomas. I think about why Mary.." Thomas tells him "Dad, give it up. Mary's never taking you up on your proposals, and I think Mama would be very pissed." Bill sighs "Yeah, and with Jean at the school, I can't catch no breaks. So what's on your mind?" Thomas responds distantly "Something similar to your situation, but different." Bill asks "Well what kind of situation. Missy Gardner?" Thomas gets up, as he asks his Father "So are you bailing the hay today for Mr. Gore to buy later?" Bill nods, as he hugs his Son, as Thomas leaves, and Bill tells his puppy "I think Thomas may finally be moving on."
Meanwhile at Waters Elementary, in the lounge, Alice, Effie, Winnie, Judy, Didi, and Jean sits inside, as Jean tells them a story about Susan, as she goes "I hope she tries to find herself a Husband soon, and give me a Grandbaby." Alice tells Jean "Susan's much nicer than Maura. I think she's been a great addition to the school, and you as well." Effie quips "Mary gets relief now." Jean sighs "Bill's always been a flirt, and I had to keep him in line." Marian meanwhile walks inside, as she asks everyone "So where's Mrs. Ellis?" Jean asks "My Sister Diane?" Marian goes "Yes. She has work to do and today's her first day. Not a good impression." Jean snaps "She already works one job, and she could use a break once in a while." Marian tells everyone "Well I'll just ask Maura's assistant to help me out." Winnie quips "The warden's prisoner is working at The Inn today." Effie gets up, as she tells them "I need to go help Connie, so later at The Inn?" Everyone nods, as Marian has left, as have Didi, and Alice gets up, and heads to her classroom, as Jean looks at Winnie, and asks her "So Eliza said you worked for Maura Carson.." Winnie quips "I was a prisoner! She's an evil bitch and I hope one day Caswell County fires the bitch once and for..." Maura walks in, and goes "Here's the bitch! And you may ought to consider retirement ladies." Jean is quiet, as Winnie asks Maura "Met Jean yet? This is Thomas' Aunt." Maura looks at Jean, and boldly goes "Anyone related to that psycho I have no use for." Jean looks at Maura and smiles "Watch your ass Maura, and if you come after my sweet little Susie, Eliza will be the least of your problems." Jean struts out, as Judy tells Winnie "I like her." Winnie nods in agreement, as Maura yells "So more of Thomas' deranged family are working here? Shit!" Winnie and Judy gets up, as they walk out and Winnie looks at Maura and jokes "Scary isn't it?" Maura sits down, as she rolls her eyes, as she makes a phone call to Corey, and tells him "I need to talk to you NOW!" Corey, inside his office at the Board Of Education, tells Maura "Come down here then. My schedule's free." Corey hangs up, unknown to him, Erica stands outside his office, as she's overheard him, and with a look of mischief in her eyes, returns to her office, and says to herself "Well Corey and Maura, Anna's spending the day with her Mama, and the two of you will be dealing with me."
At The Courthouse Inn, Eliza sits in her office, and smokes a cigarette, as April fills her in on what's been going on, as Eliza sits back, and sighs "Well April, Maura Carson is a bitch. And tell your children to enjoy that playhouse that was delivered yesterday." April asks "You sent that Eliza?" Eliza nods, and smiles "I wish it was for my Grandchildren, but sweetie, you are doing great work for me." April asks Eliza "So do you know anything else about Maura? Like who her Parents are? Or anything along those lines. We could do a check." Eliza responds "Her parents hated her too. Gave her up at birth. I done my homework, except I don't know who gave the bitch up." Diane, Bill's youngest Sister, and Eliza's former Sister In Law, walks inside, and tells Eliza "I need to head off to the school and meet the teacher I'll be working with." Eliza asks Diane "And do you remember the main purpose of why I asked you to work at the school? Not for your sweet little Grandbabies..." Diane finishes "For protecting my favorite Nephew, and my Adopted Sis." Eliza tells her "Now remember later today we'll go look at that house up the street that's for sale." Diane goes "Just build me a house near Bill." Eliza gets up, and hugs Diane, as Diane tells April "Watch out. Eliza is unpredictable." April quips "I think we both know that." Eliza laughs" Yes, I am. But what I start, I finish, and what I want, I will get. And my money.." Diane and April both goes "Speaks in a small town like Caswellton." Eliza tells Diane "Have fun honey." Diane leaves, as April asks "So do I need to head to the school?" Eliza looks at her watch, and tells April "Nah, go out there and get ready for the lunch I have prepared for the staff." April walks out, as Eliza sits back, and says to herself "I oughta... I won't. They aren't allowed outside of South America."
Meanwhile back at Waters Elementary, Missy is inside her class, as Jacob pops his head in the door, and asks Missy "You don't have an assistant?" Missy shakes her head, and goes "No. Only up to 2nd Grade have assistants and Special Ed." Jacob asks Missy "So how long have you been here?" Missy responds "I've been here now for two years. And went to school here. My Mother is the one I imagine you already know and hate among with the rest of the staff." Jacob, in shock goes "Maura? That bitch is your Mom?" Missy sighs "Unfortunately. I see her here, but we're not close." Jacob sits down, as he tells his life story to Missy, and changes subjects, as he asks her "So what's up with you and Principal Duncan?" Missy answers "I'd like to know the answer too. We have dated, but no commitments." Meanwhile in Thomas' office, Thomas sits inside, as Alice sits at his desk, and they talk about the staff and the changes, as Alice tells him "I'm really impressed with Jacob, Susan, and Jean. And Diane will make a fine addition to the staff. But you know Marian has a record with assistants. She's already mad at her." Thomas asks "What's the longest she ever kept an assistant?" Alice is silent, and answers "Four years. Mrs. Faye. She became an alcoholic working with Marian, but last I heard, she's now sobered, and works at the school in Simpson." Alice asks "And where's Dwight? He didn't show up today." Thomas goes "He and his Wife are buying some things for their Former Daughter In Law and Grandson to move in. What happened the other day really bothered him." Alice quips "If Colin was my Grandson, and he pulled that on me.." Thomas laughs "I remember what you did to that kid years ago that acted up, and you ran out of zaps, and the lights went out, and then paddled him and went "Pay attention to what happens when you talk back to me wrong!" Alice reminds him "I was going through menopause then. I'm much kinder now." Thomas asks "Need Dad to watch your class?" Alice adamantly and sternly tells Thomas "I never, NEVER want Bill Duncan in my classroom in charge ever again!" They laugh, as Alice asks Thomas "So are you going down to Eliza's restaurant for the lunch?" Thomas tells Alice "I will in a few. I'm going to walk the halls first before I leave." Alice and Thomas walks out of his office, as Alice heads out, and Thomas walks towards Missy's classroom, as she laughs with Jacob, as Maura watches, and smiles "Well look there. Maybe someone else will catch Melissa's eye besides psycho." Thomas asks Maura "What are you staring at?" Maura snides "Looks like somebody's attracted to my Daughter that I approve of. So hopefully she'll forget about you." Maura struts out, as Thomas watches on, and walks away, seeing red, as inside Missy's classroom, Missy asks Jacob "Going down to The Inn?" Jacob shakes his head, and tells Missy "I'm going home. Want to go out on a date soon?" Missy responds "How does tomorrow sound?" Jacob agrees, and leaves, as Missy heads to The Courthouse Inn, and Jacob walks out, as a janitor stands nearby, and Thomas watches, and tells the janitor "Lock up the door when the son of a bitch leaves." Thomas follows Jacob outside, and yells "Mr. Cobain?" Jacob asks "What is it?" Thomas walks up to him, and goes "I seen you putting the moves on Missy, and we're seeing each other. So if I catch you hitting on her again, I'll beat your ass." Jacob snaps "Well you are crazy! She said the two of you weren't committed." Thomas warns Jacob in a snarling tone "Just know one thing, I can have your ass fired, and let me catch you, or see you with her, and back to wherever you came from Cobain!" Jacob goes "That's very unprofessional." Thomas yells "Ain't the city you asshole!", as he gets into his car and speeds off, as Jacob makes a phone call to Anna, and leaves a message, before he too leaves.
At The Courthouse Inn, April finishes setting up the tables, as Bill and Scarlet arrives, and April tells Bill "Sir, dogs aren't allowed inside." Eliza walks out of the kitchen, and snarks "I make exceptions on puppies, and the dog can stay." Bill asks his Ex-Wife "So feeling bitchy today Eliza?" Eliza looks at Bill, and snaps "Have you been working on that damn car? You're all dirty, and the staff's on their way!" Bill snaps back "I was bailing hay for Alice's Husband to buy! And hell, this ain't no five star restaurant. That damn alimony's going to your head." Eliza smiles "But you do enjoy our alone time when I decide you can have me." April yells at them "Another person here!" Bill asks Eliza "So let's talk about Thomas. He's falling for Missy." Eliza sighs "Like the girl, but I wish her Mother would disappear." Meanwhile, Alice, Effie, Winnie, Didi, Judy, Connie, and Jean arrives, as Bill sees his Sister, and tells Eliza "Ok. Enough for one day!" Jean asks her Brother "And what's your problem with me working at the school?" Bill asks "Remember the money?" Jean sighs "Damnit Bill, that was over 50 years ago, and get over it." Bill and Scarlet leaves, as Eliza turns on the TV, and goes "Where's Thomas and Missy? Think they are doing the deed?" Alice asks Eliza "Do you really think he's going to sleep with her as bad as he mourns Valerie and T.J.?" Eliza goes "Well they have dated." Missy arrives, as Eliza asks her "Where's Thomas?" Missy answers "I don't know." and sits down as April serves everyone tea, and Eliza walks into the kitchen, and calls Thomas, and gets no answer, as she says to herself "He's acting strange, and I think it's time for us to have a talk." Meanwhile across the road at the Board Of Education, Corey works inside his office, as Maura arrives, and Corey greets her, and asks "So what's the problem Maura?" Maura responds "Thomas' crazy ass family! And Anna's allowing Jean Jones to work with Susan? And then Diane Ellis is hired? What in the hell is going on?" Erica, next door, overhears, as she walks out of her office, and into Corey's, and snaps forcefully "Corey, what in the hell did I say about dealing with this bitch?" Maura warns Erica "Don't start with me." Corey also warns Erica "And remember that Anna has to approve of your decisions." Erica asks Corey "And exactly Corey Horton, would she approve if she seen this?" Erica shows a file to Corey, and snaps at Maura "Wait bitch." Corey gasps, as he goes "The money's gone for the Duncan Developmental Center's completion." Erica looks at Corey and Maura, and tells both of them "And I know the damn thieves also, and Corey, you and Maura better start ass-kissing now, because Anna knows, and when I tell this to Eliza, both of you will wish you were dead. And most likely, will." Erica storms out, as Corey is shocked, and Maura asks Corey "So who do you think is stealing money? Thomas?" Corey goes "It's not me. And I am certain it's not Anna." They both are dumbfounded. Meanwhile at The Courthouse Inn, Diane returns, and goes "Marian really is a pain! Eliza I want to be paid extra!" Winnie quips "Marian is an old bitch, but we've always gotten along nicely." Jean assures her Sister "If you have any problems Diane, just let me know." Eliza's phone rings, as she walks away, as the staff of Waters Elementary has lunch, as Bill tells her "Thomas flew into the driveway, and left dust. He's pissed." Eliza looks at Missy, as she grows confused, and Bill adds "I would go over and check on him, but.." Bill hears Thomas screaming "DAMNIT!", and tells Ex-Wife "Something's happened." Eliza assures him "We'll find out." Meanwhile at Thomas' Farm, Thomas walks into his living room, and says to himself "I knew she never changed. Damn you Missy!"
Meanwhile at Waters Elementary, in the lounge, Alice, Effie, Winnie, Judy, Didi, and Jean sits inside, as Jean tells them a story about Susan, as she goes "I hope she tries to find herself a Husband soon, and give me a Grandbaby." Alice is silent, and answers "Four years. Mrs.

The Honor Roll: Episode 22. Grandpa's Dilemma
It's the first day of the new school year, as the hallways in Waters Elementary are bustling with children, and Dwight, Judy, and Alice are on breakfast duty, as Dwight's Grandson, Colin walks up to his Grandfather, and asks him "Can I have a drink from the soda machine Papaw?" Dwight hands his Grandson a dollar, as Colin runs to the machine and yells "Drink fast before you head down to Ms. Winnie's class now." Alice turns to Dwight, and goes "Now you know better than that Dwight. He'll be hyper all day." Dwight responds "Well Alice, he's had some problems since his Dad was killed in Iraq, and I try to be good to him. I'm glad that my Daughter In Law moved back here so the Wife and I could spend time with him." Judy's silent, as she watches Colin, and whispers to Alice "I have a feeling today I'm going to wish I retired last year."
In Thomas' Office, Missy sits inside, as she tells Thomas "I apologize for my Mom the other day." Thomas sighs "If she was my Mother, I'd run away and never come back, and not admit it." Missy looks at Thomas, and goes "Don't tempt me. But there's one thing I'd be leaving behind if I were to do that." Thomas asks "And what might that be?" Missy walks over to Thomas, and kisses him, as he turns away, and goes "I think the bell's about to ring." Missy asks him "Why are you so distant Thomas? We have went on many dates, but never one will you return a simple kiss." Thomas responds as he opens a file "I need to read up on things. See you later." Missy walks out, with confusion in her eyes, as she rounds up her class, and heads to her classroom, as Thomas says to himself "I just don't know. I'm scared." Outside in the Secretary's Office, Bill sits at Mary's desk, as he has his puppy, Scarlet in his pocket, and asks Mary "I have a puppy. You like cute things. Wanna go out?" Mary rolls her eyes, and reminds Bill "Scarlet is cute, but I am tempted to wear pepper spray or carry a Taser with you sitting in here, every day, trying to get me to go steady. Remember Eliza? Bill responds "Hell, we're divorced." Mary smiles "And you go see her everyday, and do bed swapping also. Now why do I want to date you?" Jean walks inside, as she's overheard, and asks her Brother "So this is why I can never get in touch with you? You are here tormenting this poor lady?" Bill rolls his eyes, and asks his Sister "What in the hell are you doing here Jean?" Jean responds "I now work here helping Susan. And I guess keeping you in line as I've done your entire life." Bill looks at his puppy, and sighs "Damn Scarlet, we can't catch no breaks here." Bill then turns to Jean, and responds "I was hoping Eliza was just torturing me. All of you are out to get me!" Bill and Scarlet leave, as he cries "Why! Why!", as Jean asks Mary "I need some files for Susan." Mary hands the files to Jean, as she tells her "Thank you. Now with you here, maybe that'll keep Bill from hitting on me everyday." Jean whispers something to Mary, as her eyes widen, and goes "Her too? This year will be so pleasant." Jean smiles, and tells Mary "Just buzz down if Bill bothers you. He fears me." Jean walks out, as Mary sits back, and laughs, and says to herself "Bill will be sitting at The Courthouse Inn, and I can get some work done for the first time in years!"
Meanwhile in Winnie's classroom, as class starts, and Winnie walks inside, Colin yells at his teacher "You are old! You need to retire old woman!" Winnie glares at him, as Judy gently tells him "That's not a nice thing to say Colin." Winnie agrees, and snaps "You may be Mr. Waltrip's Grandson, but it don't make no nevermind to me. I taught your Daddy, and I have something in my desk that'll take care of any smart-mouth like you, so write those words on the board and keep your mouth shut." The class writes their spelling words, as Colin sits back, and picks up his Spelling book, and rips out pages, and wads the papers into paper-balls, and throws them to other students, as Judy takes a deep breath, and Winnie stops Judy, as she walks over to Colin, and asks "Got a problem following orders?" Colin snaps "You're not my Mama." Winnie grows mad, as one student goes "Oh no, Ms. Johnson's about to flip out." Judy yells at the class "Bathroom break. Line up!" Colin attempts to leave his desk, as Winnie bluntly tells him "No. Not you. Now what's wrong with you?" Colin responds "I don't like you." Winnie asks "Why is that?" Colin points at his hand, and at Winnie's hand, as Winnie's eyes begin to grow red, and she grabs Colin's arm, and walks over to the desk, and grabs a paddle, and they storm to Thomas' office, as Colin says something to Winnie, and she scolds Colin in the hallway, as she delivers two blistering paddles, as she snaps "Boy you done said the wrong thing to me, and I'm making sure those two won't be the only ones!" Marian steps out, as she asks Winnie "Did I hear..." Winnie responds "Yes you did!" Marian tells her "Hold on, as she grabs the paddle, also paddling Colin, as she warns "I know Dwight isn't like that, and around here, that won't be accepted." Marian walks back in her room, and slams the door, as Winnie and Colin storms to Thomas' office, as Colin snarls "You people..." Winnie asks "Want another one?" Colin grows silent, as they march up the hallway.
At Sullivan Hill, Eliza sits in her dining room, along with Erica, as they drink tea, and Erica asks Eliza "Where did you get this recipe?" Eliza responds "When I was married to Pedro." Erica sighs "It's nice to be able to relax and still work. So far I've heard nothing from the bitch." Eliza quips "Well if it makes you feel better, I'm not done yet." Erica asks "Exactly what do you mean?" Eliza tells her "April Davis, the bitch's new Assistant, well she's getting paid extra, and Bill's Sister's down there too, and his other Sister works at the Inn, and she's about to start work soon in Marian's room." Erica laughs "You are damn crafty Eliza. This is exactly why we are so close." Eliza responds with a grin "Anyone who hates Maura with a passion as much as me, well they are good people." Erica asks Eliza "And what's your stance on Corey Horton?" Eliza walks into the kitchen and asks "More tea?" Erica answers "I'll take some more. Now answer me." Eliza walks inside, and bends down, and tells Erica "He's a goody goody. He follows the rulebook too damn much. But the one thing I do like is he hates Snowball." Erica sighs "You know he supports Maura. And I was going through some files, he's the only reason she still has a job." Eliza's stunned, and in shock, goes "Are you kidding? He went to school for all that training and he supports her?" Erica goes "Well he's gay, she's lesbian." Eliza lights a cigarette, and sits down, and sighs with disgust "Makes sense. All I worry about is my Son, and if he bothers Thomas over her, then he'll deal with me." Erica's phone rings, and she tells Eliza "I need to go to a meeting at the BOE (Caswell County Board Of Education)." Erica leaves, as she gets into her new Corvette, and says to herself "Corey Horton, the last thing on my bucket list before I retire, is to see you pack your shit, and get out of teaching, and it will happen. That's a promise I intend to keep."
Back at Waters Elementary, Winnie arrives at Mary's desk, with Colin, as she asks her with anger "Where is Dwight? This kid called me.." Mary tells Winnie "Dwight and Thomas are checking on the new teachers at the moment." Winnie yells at Colin "Sit here!" Winnie tells Mary "Tell Dwight he needs to paddle this kid into the next week, or I'll gladly do it!" Winnie storms out, as she mumbles "I dealt with enough of that shit, and I'll be damned to hear it from a damn kid!" In the Secretary's office, Mary asks Colin "So what did you do?" Colin, in a disrespectful tone "I called that old woman what my Daddy said she was." Colin tells Mary what he said, as Mary gasps, and warns Colin "That's not nice at all, and Ms. Johnson has worked here for many many years. And she worked with Dr. King in the Civil Rights movement." Colin goes "And why should I care. She is what she is, and she's a...." Mary snaps "Now you stop before I go grab a paddle!" Meanwhile Winnie stands in the hallway, as she returns to her classroom, and shakes her head with disgust, as she mumbles "I'd like to just take a belt on his ass." Maura walks by, and snides at Winnie "I notice somebody's lost their way with the students. Do I need to start a petition to have you fired?" Winnie yells at Maura "Go to hell! I'm going to my bench outside! And leave me alone warden!" Winnie storms out, as Judy hears her inside the classroom, as one student asks "What's wrong with Ms. Johnson?" Judy tells them "She had her feelings hurt, and I'll be the one today watching over y'all." Winnie walks outside, and sits in the shade, on a bench, as she lights a cigarette, and says to herself "Hate is taught, and whoever taught that to this child needs a belt on them. I vowed in 1965 I'd never be called that again, and I sure ain't taking it from a 7 year old."
Meanwhile Thomas and Dwight stands in Jacob's classroom, as he is teaching, and both are silent, as Thomas tells Dwight "He's good." Dwight points towards the marker board, and tells Thomas "He left Pat's instructions on the top as well." They quietly walk out, as Thomas heads across the hall, to his Cousin, Susan's room, as Dwight's paged to his office, and inside Susan's room, the students work quietly, as Jean tells her Daughter "It's time Susie." Susan whispers to her Mother "And we're working Mom. Remember I told you I was waiting for the right man." Jean yells "There's a man across the hall! And you're about to turn..." Susan points at her Mother, and asks "Want me to send you to the principal's office? I am 35." Jean quips "Add five more. And then comes menopause, and then I won't.." Susan hands over some files, and goes "Get these copied for me and I can teach." Thomas walks out as Jean reminds Susan "Remember what I said!" Susan ignores her, as Thomas asks "Aunt Jean still wanting you to settle down?" Susan sighs "Mom is insensate that I get married and have a child, and I don't want to." Thomas asks "Well are the two of you going to be able to work together in here? She's like my Dad so I know what it's like." Susan tells her Cousin "Yeah we'll be fine. I may let her work for that Maura for a few days." Thomas smiles, and laughs "She needs somebody to keep her in line." Meanwhile in Maura's classroom, April sends a text to Eliza, as Maura walks back inside and snaps at her Assistant "You are just lazy! Why are you texting when you should be watching these kids?" April responds "And why are you wondering the halls?" Maura snaps "Just shut up and know I can have you fired." April gets up, as she walks over to Maura, and whispers "I know the line you're on, so kiss my ass. I'm going wondering, so bite me." April walks out, as Maura is silent, and says to herself "Hmm. She works for the bitch, she's texting somebody. And leaves." In the hallway, April calls Eliza, who's sitting in her "den" at Sullivan Hill, as she asks "What's the report?" April looks around, and tells her boss "You need to add a zero to my check Ms. Sullivan. This bitch is driving me crazy." Eliza responds "She's drove me crazy for 26 years, so deal with the bitch and take comfort knowing I have money, and a gun." April hangs up, as she spots Maura, as she snaps "And who was that?" April snaps "None of your damn business!" Maura walks back to her classroom, as April follows, and sends a text to Eliza, telling her "I think she's starting to get suspicious."
Back in The Secretary's Office, Colin sits at Mary's desk, as he goes "My Grandpa's the Principal. I can say anything I damn well please and get away with it. He should tell Mr. Duncan to get rid of.." Dwight walks inside, as he has a look of shock on his face, as Mary gets up, and tells Dwight "He's yours now, and Winnie's on her way back. I need a break!" Mary walks out, as Dwight asks his Grandson "What are you doing in here?" Colin boldly responds "Telling the truth!" Dwight takes Colin to his office, as he asks "What truth were you exactly telling Colin?" Colin answers "That the old woman needs to be fired. She isn't white, and she's old, and she paddled me, and another one of her kind." Dwight snaps "Excuse me Colin? Did you..." Colin smiles "Damn right I did! Just like my Dad told me to!" Dwight snaps with disappointment "If your real Dad was alive Colin Waltrip, he'd tear you up for acting this way. I don't like who your Mom married, but when you are in this school, you are representing me also, and I am sure not a racist, and your Dad wasn't either!" Colin screams "Well why did he leave then Papaw? Why did he run away?" Winnie arrives, as Dwight answers "He went to war and was killed. Who told you that?" Colin responds "My new Dad." Winnie is quiet, as Dwight orders his Grandson to apologize to her, as Colin responds "I'm not apologizing to no...." Winnie runs behind Dwight's desk, and opens the drawer, and snaps "Boy you won't be sitting down for the school year now. I've damn had it with you!" Dwight stops her, and tells Winnie "He's my Grandson, and I am sorry about this." Winnie tells Dwight "It's not your fault. It's who raised him." Dwight tells Colin "Want to get paddled again?" Colin mumbles "Sorry." Winnie cracks "I can't hear you." Dwight moves the paddle, as he boldly tells him "Apologize!" Colin looks at Winnie, and says "Sorry I called you that Ms. Johnson." Winnie tells Colin "That was very ugly for you to say, and very hateful. You hurt me, and I want you in ISS for awhile, and study black history. My book on black history, and then you'll know." Winnie tells Dwight "I'm returning to my class, he can return when he straightens up his act." Winnie walks out, as Dwight looks at his Grandson, and tells him, as Thomas arrives "Now you go up to ISS, and Mr. Duncan will be watching." Colin goes "But.." Thomas escorts Colin out, as Dwight looks at Thomas and shakes his head with disgust, as Colin heads to ISS, as Dwight sits in his office, and looks at a photo on his desk of his Son, that died in Iraq, and calls Colin's Mother, as she goes "What's wrong?" Dwight tells his Former Daughter In Law "Colin's going to be Suspended for two weeks for calling Ms. Johnson a racial slur, and he'll serve it here." Colin's Mom gasps "I tried to stop him from teaching that garbage to Colin." Dwight sternly tells her "You let him know that it's not acceptable around my Grandson, and not in this school, and if I ever hear it come out of my Grandson's mouth, I'll come over and kick his ass." Dwight's Daughter In Law apologizes, and sighs "Dwight, I am so sorry. I will be putting a stop to it when I visit the lawyer." Dwight goes "Finally.", and hangs up, as Thomas walks inside, and asks Dwight "So Colin called Winnie..." Dwight gets emotional, as he tells Thomas "I should have been protecting Colin from his Step-Father's hatred. I knew he has his beliefs, but to teach it to a little boy, it's horrible." Thomas sits down at Dwight's desk, as he tells him "Well just know one thing Mr. Waltrip. I know he didn't learn it from you, and he didn't learn it from your Son. It's the Step-Father's that accountable, and his Mother for being blind to it." Dwight tells Thomas "She's getting a divorce, and I'm asking her and Colin to move in with the Wife and I. At least I'll feel more comfortable then." Thomas gets up, as he tells Dwight "You're a great man, and I know you. And you know where I am." Dwight nods, as Thomas heads to his office, as Dwight looks up, and then looks at his Son's photo, and goes with a tear in his eye "I wish you were still here Son. But don't worry, I'm going to make sure Colin's raised right."
In Thomas' Office, Missy sits inside, as she tells Thomas "I apologize for my Mom the other day." Thomas sighs "If she was my Mother, I'd run away and never come back, and not admit it." Missy looks at Thomas, and goes "Don't tempt me. But there's one thing I'd be leaving behind if I were to do that." Thomas asks "And what might that be?" Susan points at her Mother, and asks "Want me to send you to the principal's office?

The Honor Roll: Episode 21. Season Premiere: The New School Year
A school year's passed at Waters Elementary since the passing of Waters Elementary's longest tenured teacher, Pat Barker who passed away, and for the past year, various teachers has filled her classroom, as The Caswell County Board of Education's looked for the perfect replacement. As some things change in Caswellton, and within the school, some also doesn't change, old rivalries still flare, but the mission of many on the staff, and not, are to look out for their students, among other things, as a new school season begins, and now we head to Caswellton, and pick up The Honor Roll, one year later.
It's a day before the new school year at Waters Elementary, and inside Thomas' office, Thomas and Dwight drink a cup of coffee, as Dwight tells him "This year will be interesting. A new Special Ed class, my Grandson moving here." Thomas quips "Sounds like you have your hands full. Now there won't be any bias now will there?" Dwight tells Thomas "My three children went here, and if they misbehaved, off to ISS, and I also taught them when they reached my grade, when Pat and I were both teaching Fifth Grade." Thomas sighs "It's growing. And Mama's staying on for another year. I guess Maura staying changed her mind." Dwight laughs "Wild horses won't drive who Winnie calls "The Warden" out of here. Now let's talk about something else, when are you going to start dating Missy?" Thomas is silent, and goes "I don't know. We've went out for dinner, but I just can't commit." Dwight tells him "It's been three years since you lost Valerie and T.J...." Thomas responds in a serious tone "Look, let's focus on this new school year, and I will worry about my love life!" Dwight goes "Well most of the staff's down at The Courthouse Inn. Want to go?" Thomas tells Dwight "I'm staying here and do some more catching up, and meet the new teachers." Dwight heads to the door, as he tells Thomas "You may hear me say this a lot, but I'm honored to be your Assistant here, and now with Erica being promoted to the third Assistant.." Thomas reminds him "She's now Anna's assistant, but still working here as Lead Teacher of Special Ed." Dwight rolls his eyes, and goes "That's right. Have the earplugs ready, because someone will not be pleased." Thomas quips "And Maura can go crazy and join Snowball in Milledgeville. It's the closest place to hell from here. She's fit in nicely." Dwight walks out, as Thomas reads a resume, and goes "Cousin Susan's working here? And my Aunt Jean as Assistant?" Thomas makes a phone call to his Father, and gets no answer, as Bill's trailer's empty, with his cell phone sitting by his chair. Back at Waters Elementary, Thomas looks up, and goes "I have a feeling this year's going to be wild."
At The Courthouse Inn, the faculty and the staff are there, as Eliza throws a party for the staff, as Alice, Effie, Winnie, Missy, Mary, Judy, Anna, Corey, and Erica are there, as Eliza tells them "Notice somebody didn't show up. I didn't invite the bitch." Didi meanwhile works, as she waits on her co-workers, as Alice asks Eliza "So where's Thomas? Didn't you invite him?" Eliza smiles "My sweet Son will be here when he stops working so hard. And I just wonder where's Bill and his fat friend." Erica tells everyone "Well since I'm working as Anna's assistant, I want to make one thing very much clear, if I even hear one word that Snowball and Maura's back together, or Maura's going to Milledgeville, I will have her teaching license revoked! I am excited about Ms. Jones joining the staff, and..." Eliza asks "Susan Jones?" Erica nods, as Alice asks "Isn't she Bill's Niece?" Eliza goes "Yes, and she has lived abroad for many years, but apparently she's back in town, and in other news..." Everyone's silent, as Anna goes "Decided to step down from spying on Maura?" Eliza sighs "Yes, I am going to step away. The bitch learned last year not to piss me off. But her new Assistant works for me." Eliza yells "Hey April, come out here and get working!" April Davis, a waitress at The Courthouse Inn, walks out of the kitchen, as she tells her boss "I was on a smoke break." Winnie quips "Yes! I have someone to smoke with on my breaks." Corey meanwhile tells everyone "I have spoke to Anna, and I have proposed that no staff member can smoke at the school." Winnie glares at Corey, as she snaps "Who in the hell gives you the right to tell me I can't sit in my car and have a damn cigarette when it's my break and Judy's watching my class? I don't like you." Anna whispers to Corey "You may want to just turn the other way. This isn't Atlanta." Erica meanwhile sarcastically tells Corey "You already turning into another Snowball!" Corey yells "Damnit cut me a break! I'm only trying to do what's right." Erica snaps "If you wanted to do something right, you'd quit, and move on since you're related to Snowball!" Meanwhile Eliza walks behind the counter, as Erica and Corey argue, as she calls Bill, and gets his voicemail, and tells her Ex-Husband "Mary's here, and we're missing you and your fat twin." Outside in Bill's yard, Bill yells "Peanut? Where are you at?" Bill walks up to the edge of the road, and yells "Oh No.", as Peanut's been hit by a car, and Bill bends down and goes "Buddy, are you with me?" Peanut's eyes looks at him, as Bill gently picks him up, and as he rushes back to his truck, a car pulls inside, as Bill yells "I ain't got no damn time for witnesses!" Bill's Oldest Sister, Jean Jones, walks out, and notices Peanut, and tells her Brother "Get in, and I'll go with you." Bill gets in the car, as he hands Peanut to his Sister, and takes the wheel, as he tells her "You never could drive fast." Jean sighs "Oh shit." Bill speeds to the vet in Caswellton, as Jean cradles Peanut.
Back at Waters Elementary, Thomas sits inside his office, as Maura walks inside, and snarls "This year is 27 years Thomas! 27 years I've dedicated my life to Caswell..." Thomas sighs with disgust "Shut the hell up. The only thing you dedicated yourself to was checks from Ken and Trish and sending kids to The Graveyard. Maybe I'll be lucky and Erica will fire your ass out of here this year since she's helping Anna." Maura warns Thomas "And another thing Thomas, I don't support you seeing my Daughter since you're crazy. And your Mama..." Thomas snaps "What in the hell did you say? Did you call my crazy? Bitch let me get something straight with you right now. If Missy and I want to see each other, then stay the hell out of it. She's the best thing you ever gave the world, and I tolerated a lot of shit from you, and lost a lot, but damnit I'll go to the board my damn self if you call me crazy, or I'll call my Mama and..." Eliza walks inside, as she has overheard, and grabs Maura and asks "Did you call my boy crazy?" Maura rolls her eyes, and goes "Mommy to save the day." Eliza slaps Maura, and warns her "I'm not working in your class bitch to keep you in check, but if I hear anything about you trying to hurt Thomas, or Missy for that matter, your ass is mine! You'll be joining Snowball!" Thomas tells Maura "Now get out. The new teachers are about to arrive, and one will be teaching Special Ed, and may replace you." Maura snaps "Nothing will make me leave. I'm getting my pension." Eliza snarks "Kiss Ken and Trish's asses and maybe they'll take you on at The Graveyard...that's right, they cut you off." Maura storms out, as Susan Jones, and the new Fifth Grade Teacher, Jacob Cobain sits in the Secretary's office, as Maura warns them "I'd find another place to work if I were you, and regardless of what Erica Elliott will say, I'm the damn boss here of Special Ed!" Susan smiles, and laughs "You're funny. And mess with me, and you'll be dealing with my Mama, who's Bill Duncan's Sister." Maura screams as she walks out into the hallway "SHIT!" Back in Thomas' office, Eliza tells her Son "I have a plan with Maura. Her new Assistant works for me at the Inn, and I'm going to talk to her about being a spy." Thomas tells his Mother "Nice thinking." Eliza changes subjects, and asks Thomas "Where's Bill?" Thomas goes "I hadn't heard anything Mama." Eliza sighs "I hate to admit it, but I worry about him. He didn't come down to the luncheon, and he never turned down my cooking, unless he found another woman. I'll kick her ass. Money talks in small towns..." Thomas assures his Mother "He may be plowing my field. Or asleep. Don't get into a frenzy." Eliza sighs, and Thomas smiles "You still love him don't you Mama?" Eliza heads to the door, and whispers "Our little secret." Eliza leaves as Susan goes "Aunt Eliza?" Eliza hugs Susan, and tells her "Thomas is in his office, and you look great." Susan laughs "Living in California and working out does wonders." Eliza goes "Best of luck sweetie." Eliza leaves, as Susan and Jacob walks into Thomas' office, as Jacob tells Susan "I don't know about this place." Susan quips "It'll be alright. My family's here, and none of them take any shit."
Back at The Courthouse Inn, Dwight arrives, as Alice asks him "Did you meet the new staff members?" Dwight nods, and tells Alice, Effie, Winnie, Erica, Didi, Judy, Missy, Mary, Corey, and Anna "I did, and I think they will be fine additions, and I ran into someone while I was parking my Motorcycle who'll be Effie's Assistant this year." Connie Adams walks inside, as the staff welcomes her, as Connie tells everyone "I got bored with just driving the bus. So it'll be nice to be back working again." Didi asks meanwhile "So since we're getting assistants, how about me? It's a lot to keep up with in the Media Center." Dwight reminds her "This year we'll be moving Fifth Grade back into Pat's old classroom, and Mr. Cobain will be excellent. He is in his 30s, and like Pat, started late in the teaching profession." Winnie yells "I don't think nobody's worthy of sitting at my dear friends old desk! Make that room a memoriam for her instead." Effie tells Winnie, as does the rest of the staff "She'd want us to move on Winnie." Anna tells them "Her family's getting her things today, and then Jacob will start moving in. He mentioned keeping her old desk." Winnie snaps "He can have mine! I'll take hers." Judy turns to Winnie, and goes "I think it should be mine. I worked with Pat for the past 20 years." Winnie goes "Ok Judy, and it'll be in MY room." Judy quips "I hope I don't end up calling you warden." Winnie smiles "No Judy. Ms. Johnson's just fine." Missy's phone rings, as she tells everyone "It's her. I need to go." Missy leaves, with dread, as Dwight tells everyone "I have an idea. Let's visit Pat's room one more time before Mr. Cobain takes over, and we'll pay tribute to her, and name it the "Pat Barker Room"." Everyone nods in agreement, as they head back to Waters Elementary.
Back at Waters Elementary, Thomas walks through the halls with his Cousin, Susan, and the newest teacher to the staff, Jacob, as Susan tells her Cousin "I thought it would be good for my Mama to help me, and we'd be able to spend time together, and she'd have something to do, and keep Uncle Bill in check." Thomas rolls his eyes, as he sighs "This is going to be a wild year ahead." Susan assures him "It'll be ok. And I didn't like that Maura Carson at all. She's a bitch." Jacob asks Thomas "How does she keep a job?" Thomas responds "One of the unsolved mysteries of Caswellton." Meanwhile at Bill's trailer, Bill and his Sister, Jean returns, as Eliza walks out of the front door, and yells at her Ex-Husband "Where in the hell were you at?" Bill is crying, as Jean looks at her former Sister In Law, and Bill cries "I drove as fast as I could, and..." Eliza asks "What's wrong Bill?" Jean tells her "Peanut was hit by a car, and died at the vet's office." Eliza hugs Bill, as Bill goes "He was my best friend. My riding partner on my bus, my dinner buddy, kept my bed warm for me and my recliner. I'm going to miss him." Jean tells her Brother "It'll be alright. Take a few days, and mourn, and when school's back in session, you will be ok, and I'll be at the school every day." Bill cries louder, as he goes "Eliza's paying you isn't she?" Eliza goes "Only to keep an eye on Maura." Jean, confused, goes "You're paying me?" Eliza responds with a smile "I want as many spies as possible to keep a check on that bitch." Meanwhile a car stops on the side of the road, and a man gets out, and puts a Chihuahua puppy on the ground, and drives away, as Jean gasps "How horrible. What a bastard!" Eliza is shocked, as Bill turns, and walks up to the puppy, as it's young, and it cries, and Bill picks the puppy up, and tells his Ex-Wife and Sister "It's a girl, and she's a runt." Jean asks "Well Bill are you keeping it?" Bill asks the puppy "Well, want me to be your Daddy?" The puppy pees in his hand, and Bill laughs "I'm naming her "Little Girl"." Jean looks at her Brother, and quips "That's the best you can do?" Eliza walks away, as her phone rings, as Bill asks his Sister "Ok Bossy, what are your suggestions?" Jean looks at the puppy, and tells her Brother "Scarlet." Bill looks at the hernia on the puppy's stomach, and asks the puppy "Do you wanna be called Scarlet?" The puppy licks him, and he puts Scarlet into his shirt pocket, as he looks up and says "Thank you Peanut." Inside Eliza's Mercedes, Eliza speaks to April, as she's in Maura's classroom, and Eliza tells her employee "Don't give no hints you're working for me. If you are successful. I'll make sure your kids go to college. If not, you'll be back at WhiteTail trailer park!" Back at Waters Elementary, the staff has arrived, with the exception of Missy, as Marian walks down the hall, as Thomas meets with everyone, and introduces them to Susan and Jacob, as Alice tells Thomas "Before we start another year, Dwight had a wonderful idea." Alice tells it to Thomas, as Corey and Jacob both tell Alice, Thomas, and Dwight "I don't think it's wise to have a prayer at public school." Winnie looks at them, as does the rest of the staff, and they all go "Shut up!", as they walk down the hall, and Anna unlocks the door to Pat's classroom, left as it was when she passed away in there a little over a year earlier, and Jacob asks Anna "Would you mind it if I left this room the way she had it. I just feel weird being in here." Anna looks at him, as Pat's Granddaughter walks inside, and goes "My Grandma wouldn't mind one bit." Mary runs up the hall, as Winnie looks at Judy, as they nod, and Jacob asks "Feel like someone else is in here?" Everyone nods, as Pat's Granddaughter goes "She loved teaching. She never changed anything. I can still see her old smoke stains on the ceiling and the walls from years ago." All are silent, as they reflect, as Mary returns with a huge portrait of Pat's school photo from 35 years earlier, and Pat's Granddaughter looks at Judy, as Mary hands it to her, and Judy hangs the portrait over the marker board, and Thomas hands Jacob his title, and he puts it in his pocket, as he tells everyone "This will always be Pat Barker's Room, and I am honored to be here." Alice leads everyone in prayer, as Pat's spirit watches on with a smile, and goes "Everything's going to be alright here." Pat's spirit walks out of the classroom, as the faculty and staff of Waters Elementary, along with Pat's Granddaughter prays together, as Pat hums to herself, as her spirit slowly disappears into the halls of Waters Elementary.
